Federal Express needed a San Francisco Peninsula last-mile distribution point for their overnight delivery service.
Solution
We located an ideal last-mile site at a freeway interchange that is critical to FedEx's overnight distribution system. Because the landowner would not sell the parcel, we created a flexible solution in which we delivered, for a fee, a completed facility that our client leased from the landowner.
Chamberlin Associates completed site selection, site and space design, approvals and permit management, shell and tenant improvement construction, and financing.
Result
Despite the landowner's disinterest in selling, Federal Express was able to secure a custom-built 70,000 square foot last-mile distribution building on an ideal site, with a long-term lease.
